Our history
Popular for both locals and visitors, The Cobb in Palmerston North (formerly the Empire Hotel) is one of the city’s oldest buildings and was originally the site of the city's first school in 1872. In 1890, the school was converted into the hotel and has since been home to a few restaurants including a Cobb & Co. Known fondly in recent decades, as "The Cobb" - The Cobb Hotel was born in 2015 and continues to be a favourite meeting place for diners.
